I was in your proximity,
from the time you were born,
but you did not see me

I was near you,
when you were playing in the woods,
but you did not see me

I was with you,
and cried along with you when you were in agony,
but you did not see me

I was with you,
smiling along with you, sharing your happy moments,
but you did not see me

I was with you,
consoling you in the moments of distress,
but you did not see me

Even now, I am with you,
sharing every moment of your life,
but still you do not see me

I will always be with you,
like your shadow throughout your life,
but I am sure you will never see me
